Compartment Pressures and Uncertainty Analysis (1 Day)
Note : This course is generally offered the day after the Petrophysical Geopressure Analysis course.
Who should take this course?
Engineers and geoscientists who would like to
- Gain an understanding of compartment pressures and their impact on drilling and prospect risk.
- Learn how to use probabilistic (Monte Carlo) methods when performing geopressure analysis.
Course Overview
This course will cover estimating sand compartment pressures arising from hydrocarbon buoyancy, transmitted shale pressure and laterally transferred pressures. Impact of transferred pressures on prospect and drilling risk will also be discussed. Probabilistic (Monte Carlo) geopressure analysis using Drillworks® software is included.
DAY 1
- Overview of transferred pressures
- Impact of transferred pressures on drilling
- Impact of compartment pressures in prospect risk
- Seal integrity and compartment pressure analysis
- Probabilistic geopressure assessment
